THOT KATHIN Annual Ceremony 2015

Attaporphiang Foundation invite to charitable philanthropists participants "Thot Kathin annual ceremony 2015"

 HISTORY:  

During Lent (roughly the rainy season in Thailand) monks could not travel. The monks stayed overnight in the same temple for three lunar months. The Kathin ceremony originates from the time of Buddha. The original ceremony was for a group of monks traveling to meet Lord Buddha. They were unable to complete their journey before the beginning of the rains retreat (Lent). At the end of Lent they completed their journey. Their clothes had become soaked and dirty on their way to meet Lord Buddha. When Buddha saw their condition he allowed lay people to offer the monks yellow robes. The tradition of presenting robes to monks continues today in the Kathin ceremony. 

Thot Kathin is the annual ceremony is a rite of philanthropy that will offer new robes to the monks by laymen, 

it took place in October after the end of Buddhist lent and finish within one month.  

This year's foundation charity event's dedicated to Buddhist monks at WAT SOBLOM, Buayai Seb-District, Na Noi District, Nan Thailand.

The activities will be held on Monday 23rd, November 2015.

WAT SOB LOM:  

WAT SOB LOM is a name of Temple and is a sacred temple in the local community and also this place to pilot project's a "Sufficiency Economy&New Theory Project"  belong foundation. Duration of the past, we get advise and consultant from Praphalat Bunyarit Teerabhunyo is abbot of the temple and primate Bua Yai sub-district. So in this year, the foundation and the donors get together activity "Thot Kathin Annual Ceremony 2015" up. 

OBJECTIVE: 

1. To raise funds for the construction and rebuilding of the temple wall to the east , north and south of the temple. 

2. To be nurture Buddhism and to be a factor in the repair of the temple and other amenities to provide for the benefit of fostering sustainable society.
